Hi, I'm Cuttles. I spent years helping founders write business plans, and along the way everyone asked the same second question: "…and what gear do I actually need?" So now that's the whole job — comparing office gear and writing the guides I wish had existed.
Three promises, eight arms
Brands can't send freebies, and they can't see a ranking before you do. I earn a commission when you buy — but no brand has ever paid to be on the list.

How I actually work
Let me be straight about the method, because a lot of sites in this corner of the internet are vague on purpose.
I don't run a lab. I haven't put a decibel meter next to your desk fan. What I do is read the specification sheets, the warranty small print, the complaint records and the reviews people leave after six months — especially the one-star ones nobody reads.
Then I check whether the thing is actually buyable. A surprising number of famous products aren't: discontinued models sold as refurbished, brands that only sell direct, listings that are relabelled old stock. Those get said out loud instead of quietly ranked.
How the money works
When you buy something through a link here, Amazon pays me a small commission. It costs you nothing extra — the price is identical whether you arrive from this site or type the address yourself.
Two things are true at once, and I'd rather say both than hide behind either. Every product link on this site earns a commission — that's why each one is tagged as sponsored in the page's own code. And no brand has ever paid to be included, ranked, or written about. There is no sponsored content, no paid placement, no brand partnerships and no "featured" slot for sale.
The distinction matters. A site can be entirely commission-funded and still rank honestly, or it can take one brand's money and bury it. If that ever changes here, you'll read it on this page first.
The obvious question is whether commission bends the rankings. Two things stop it. The list gets written before any links are added, so the ordering is decided while I'm looking at specs rather than rates. And several guides here recommend things I earn nothing from — products sold direct only, or the honest answer that you should keep what you have. Those pages exist precisely because the alternative would be dishonest.
