Cuttles facts: what it is, what it costs and what it doesn't do

A plain reference page about Cuttles, the business plan software. Every figure has a date, and the same facts are on the pages linked below.

Last updated 12 October 2026

Cuttles in one paragraph

Cuttles is business plan software for early-stage founders. Instead of a blank document, it asks one question at a time: first the pitch, then a 13-section business plan, a budget and the team. The budget calculates burn rate, runway and break-even. The result can be shared as a live link or exported as a PDF. Yearly plans include Funding match, which matches the plan with a curated database of grants and investors. Cuttles is made by Cuttles Business Plan Software ApS in Copenhagen, Denmark.

What Cuttles does

  • Pitch. Problem, solution, market, business model, customer segments, traction and funding status, with a short explanation under each field. How it works
  • Business plan. 13 sections from concept to risks, including SWOT, competitors, customer personas, marketing and a roadmap. A guide and an example answer sit next to every section.
  • Budgets. Expenses, revenue and capital month by month, with recurring and one-time costs, growth and churn. Cuttles calculates burn rate, runway and break-even and draws the charts. Budgets work in your own currency, including EUR, USD, GBP, DKK, SEK, NOK, CHF and PLN.
  • Team. Founders, roles and planned hires. On Grow and Series you can invite co-founders, advisors or your incubator.
  • Sharing and export. A live link that always shows the latest version (password protection on Grow and Series), an investor-ready PDF, and budget export to a spreadsheet (XLSX).
  • Industry templates. Finished sample plans for different kinds of business, each with a 3-year budget. Business plan templates
  • AI Rewrite and AI Polish. Improve the wording of a field you have written, within a monthly limit per plan.
  • Funding match (yearly plans). Grants and investors matched to your plan, with why each one fits, the amount or check size, deadlines and how to apply or pitch.

What Cuttles does not do

  • It does not guarantee funding, apply for grants on your behalf, send pitches or introduce you to investors.
  • It takes no success fee or cut of any grant or investment.
  • It does not list loans, credit lines or venture debt.
  • It is not accounting software: budgets are projections you enter, not synced from a bank or a bookkeeping system.
  • AI does not write the plan for you. It can rewrite or polish text you have written.
  • It gives information, not financial, legal, tax or investment advice.

The office gear guides, and how Cuttles earns from them

Cuttles mainly makes business plan software, paid for by subscriptions. The site also publishes buying guides for startup and home-office equipment, such as desks, chairs and monitors. That is a second, separate revenue stream: product links in those guides are Amazon affiliate links, so Cuttles may earn a commission when a reader buys, at no extra cost to them.

The guides have no influence on the software, its prices or Funding match results, and brands cannot pay to be listed in them. Every page with affiliate links carries a disclosure. The guides are drafted with AI assistance and reviewed and fact-checked by a real person. All gear guides · Affiliate disclosure

Common questions

What is Cuttles?

Cuttles is business plan software for early-stage founders. It guides you through a pitch, a 13-section business plan, a budget and a team page, one question at a time, and lets you share the result as a link or a PDF. Yearly plans also include Funding match, which matches your plan with grants and investors.

Who is Cuttles for, and who is it not for?

It is built for founders writing their first or next business plan: pre-seed and seed startups, small businesses applying for a grant or a bank loan, and advisors or incubators helping several startups. It is not accounting software and does not sync with your bank or bookkeeping, so it is not the right tool for tracking the actual numbers of a running company.

How much does Cuttles cost?

Seed costs €19 a month or €96 a year (€8 a month), Grow €29 a month or €192 a year, and Series €79 a month or €576 a year. Prices include VAT where it applies. Every plan starts with a 7-day free trial, and you can cancel anytime. There is no free plan.

Is there a free trial?

Yes, 7 days on every plan. You add a card at checkout, pay nothing that day and can cancel before the trial ends. Funding match is not included during the trial or on monthly billing.

How do I calculate runway, burn rate and break-even without an accounting background?

In Cuttles you enter expected expenses, revenue and capital month by month, and the app calculates burn rate, runway and break-even and draws the charts. There are also free calculators for startup costs, break-even and runway on cuttles.io that need no account.

Can I make a pitch and a business plan in the same tool?

Yes. The pitch (problem, solution, market, business model and traction) is the first step, and the business plan, budget and team build on the same answers.

How do I find startup grants in my country?

Start with your government's official grant portals. Cuttles adds a curated database of 1,357 grants a for-profit business can apply for, in 39 countries plus EU-wide calls, and matches it to your plan by location, industry, stage and funding need. You apply on each funder's own page.

Are grants free money?

Grants are not loans and are usually equity-free, but many are matching grants, where you pay part of the project yourself, and many pay out after you have spent the money. Being eligible does not mean you will be funded.

How do I find investors for my stage and sector?

Cuttles' investor database has 4,196 active investors in 84 countries and matches them to your country, stage, sector and funding need, with each firm's typical check size and how it takes pitches. You contact investors yourself.

Can I export to PDF or Excel?

Yes. Plans export to an investor-ready PDF with cover, table of contents, charts and page numbers, and budget tables can be exported as a spreadsheet (XLSX).

Can co-founders and advisors work on the same plan?

Yes, on the Grow and Series plans, which allow unlimited members per startup. The Seed plan is for one person.

Is it safe to share a plan as a link?

You decide what to publish. Shared links always show the latest version, and on Grow and Series you can protect a link with a password.

Are there templates for specific industries?

Yes. Cuttles has finished sample business plans for different kinds of business, each with a 3-year budget, that you can start from and make your own.

Does AI write the business plan for me?

No. You write the plan with a guide and an example next to every section. AI Rewrite and AI Polish can improve the wording of a field you have written, within a monthly limit per plan.
