Add expenses, revenue and capital
Open a budget and use the tabs Expenses, Revenue and Capital. Each tab has the same kind of table.

Groups and items
- A finance group is a heading, for example "Operating costs" or "Subscriptions". Click Create a new finance group at the bottom of the table.
- A finance item is one line in a group, for example "Salaries" or "Marketing". Click Create a new finance item under the group.
Fill in an item
| Column | What to enter |
|---|---|
| Finance item | The name, for example "Rent". |
| Type | Expenses: Recurring cost or One-time cost. Revenue: Recurring revenue or One-time revenue. Capital: for example Owners contribution or Loan. |
| Start date / End date | The months the item runs. |
| Amount | The amount per period, in the budget's currency. |
| Period | How often the amount occurs, for example Monthly. |
| Growth / Growth rate | Optional growth, for example 8% for a cost that grows over time. |
The totals, charts and key figures at the top update as you type.
Move and delete
Drag items to reorder them or to move them to another group. Deleting a group deletes all items in it, so Cuttles asks you to confirm.
Check the result
The Report tab shows totals per year for every group and item, plus the cash balance. The Dashboard tab sums it up. See Understand runway, burn rate and break-even.
