Create a budget
Open your startup and click Budgets in the left menu. A startup can have more than one budget, for example a base case and a slower-growth case.
Create one
- Click Create a budget (top right) or the Create a new budget card.
- Enter a budget name, an optional description, a start date and an end date. Most founders plan 3 years ahead.
- Continue to the settings step and finish.
Currency and dates
Open the budget and click Settings in its tabs to change the name, dates or currency. The currency setting shows an example of how amounts will be formatted.
A budget in three parts
- Expenses: what you spend: salaries, rent, software, marketing.
- Revenue: what you expect to earn from customers.
- Capital: money put into the business: your own savings, loans, grants or investment.
