Create your first startup

Updated October 12, 2026

A startup in Cuttles holds one pitch, one business plan, your budgets and your team.

Before you start

You need an active plan or a 7-day trial to create a startup. If you haven't picked a plan yet, Cuttles asks you to choose one first. See How the 7-day free trial works.

Create the startup

  1. Go to Startups and click Create a startup (the card with the plus, or the button at the top right).
  2. Fill in the General step: startup name, a slug (the unique ID used in your share links, for example my-bakery), industry, number of employees and country.
  3. Continue through the remaining steps (Pitch, Settings). You can change all of it later in the startup's Settings.
  4. Click through to finish. Your new startup opens on the Pitch page.

Tip: Don't have an idea written down yet? Open the example plan first, or start from an industry template instead of a blank startup. See Start from an industry template.

How many startups can I have?

Seed includes 1 startup, Grow includes 3 and Series has no limit. Archived startups are kept on the Startups page and can be restored. See Plans and pricing.

If the slug is taken

Slugs are unique across Cuttles. If yours already exists, you'll see an error. Pick another, for example by adding your city.
