What actually matters for a dual monitor setup
Two monitors side by side sounds simple until one of them is a hair lower than the other and your neck starts compensating without you noticing. The whole point of a dual mount, dual riser, or pair of single VESA arms is independent adjustment — each screen gets its own height, tilt, and swivel so you can actually match them, rather than eyeballing two stacks of textbooks and hoping.
Before you order, find out what your monitors actually weigh without their stands attached. Every dual-monitor arm on this list comes with a weight range, not just a ceiling, and that range is more important than the sticker price. Put a 22 lb monitor on an arm rated for 4-20 lb and you'll see sag; put a 5 lb monitor on the same arm and it might never stay level because there's not enough weight to balance the spring tension. This is the most common complaint I see with gas-spring arms across all price ranges, and it's completely preventable if you look at the specs before you hit buy.
Clamp arm, C-clamp-and-grommet, or riser
Most dual mounts use a C-clamp for solid desks and a grommet fitting for desks with a cable hole, and the better products (like the HUANUO and ErGear options above) include both so you’re not stuck if your desk doesn’t have a pre-drilled hole. If you’d rather not clamp anything to the desk at all — renters, shared desks, or just an aversion to hardware — a solid riser does the same alignment job with zero installation, at the cost of losing height adjustment once it’s set. VESA compatibility is the wall you’ll hit
Every dual mount here assumes your monitors have a VESA mounting pattern on the back. Most 24-32 inch office monitors do. If yours doesn’t — older all-in-ones, some ultrawide curved panels, a few budget TVs pressed into monitor duty — you’ll need an adapter kit before any arm will bolt on. The seller detail nobody mentions
Once you’ve spent real money on a mount, the return and warranty conversation matters. A few of the higher-priced single arms in this hub are sold by third-party resellers rather than the brand itself, which changes who you’re actually dealing with if something fails at month 14. It’s worth checking the “Sold by” line on the product page the day you buy, not assuming it’s the same as last time you looked — sellers on Amazon listings change more often than people expect.
Cable management, because two monitors means twice the cables
Nobody budgets for this and everybody needs it. A basic under-desk cable tray solves 90% of the mess a dual monitor setup creates, and it’s a five-minute add to the same order. It’s not glamorous, but neither is finding your HDMI cable knotted around a desk leg every morning.

I pulled my information straight from Amazon's own data—star counts, review numbers, the 'Customers say' summaries Amazon displays, and the weight and dimension specs listed on product pages. I didn't clamp anything to a desk or time how long a gas spring stays put; I have no lab setup and I'm not going to pretend otherwise. When a listing only showed me search results instead of a full product page, I've flagged that in my write-up, and when two products share the same review count I've noted that rather than treating them as separate numbers.
